JUICING/YOGA IMMERSION IN JUNE: The People’s Yoga on 42nd and Belmont has put together a cool workshop. Seasonal Juice Cleanse and Yoga Immersion will provide you a weeks worth of juices (6 per day) and a weeks worth of yoga. Oh man, that is awesome. A great idea, especially for people new to juicing, or curious about a juice fast and what that can do for your body. Plus, the support and community aspect is nice…the first few days of a juice fast are mentally difficult, for sure. This runs June 4-8, $340 for the weeks worth of juices and yoga.
VEGAN NUTRITION FOR CHILDREN: A cool event at the Northewest Veg monthly potluck. Dr John Collins will be talking about healthy vegan eating for children. My kid eats alot of pasta and cheese and more cheese, so I know we could use to learn some of this stuff. Info here. May 20, from 5pm – 8pm at the Friends Meeting Hall, 4312 SE Stark.
BIKE SCORE LANCHES IN PORTLAND: Walkscore is a tool that rates the walkability of your neighborhood. It rates a score based on closeness to grocery stores, parks, schools, etc. Its a cool tool, and I have noticed it being used more and more by realtors. Now, the same company has launched BikeScore to Portland, to see how the biking rates around your house.

On a somewhat related note, check out trimet’s new trip planner. The bicycle trip planner is pretty amazing. Also notice that it is not Google Maps but instead OpenStreetMap which you will be seeing a lot more of lately (Apple will soon be ditching Google maps on the iPhone for OSM). Pretty forward thinking for a city to use an open source mapping program instead of Google. Another reason to love PDX!
Sorry I see a map and I get a little excited.

haha nice, I geeked out on that map a few months ago when it came out. Haven’t really used it much though, my Trimet trips don’t vary too much.
